Amanda L. Ball has been writing poetry since she was a young girl, having her first poem published in a book for young poets at age 11. It has been her lifelong dream to publish her own collection of poetry, and she finally made that dream come true in January 2025. She is focused on writing more dark whimsy, macabre tales and fables for adults.

Her writing style has been inspired by the lyrical, whimsical rhymes of Shel Silverstein, the dark, macabre tales of Edgar Allan Poe, and the nostalgic, magical storybook fairytales of the Brothers Grimm—adapted to her own feminist voice and relevant to modern times.

She is a loud, relentless voice for social justice and cares deeply about child and animal welfare. Though she grew up and lived in Texas for 35 years, she has spent time traveling the world, living as a nomad across the country, and currently resides in the state of Maryland with her cats, enjoying her passion for books and writing, crafting, and reveling in her friendships.

And she has never, ever stopped dreaming and believing in magic.
